Turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and cinnamon come together in this flavourful paste, serving as the perfect base for a rich and nourishing golden latte. Packed with warming spices, it not only enhances the drink’s taste but also brings powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.
For the ultimate wellness boost, we love pairing our Golden Latte with Everee #5 - Active Aging.
Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is absorbed better by the body when paired with black pepper!
2 Tbsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ cup ground turmeric
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup water
3 Tbsp extra virgin coconut oil or a flavourless oil such as rice bran
¾ cup trim milk or plant milk of choice
1 scoop (2 tsp) Everee #5
Honey or maple syrup to sweeten (optional)
Place all ingredients except the oil in a small saucepan.
Place on stove top set to medium heat and whisk continually till it starts bubbling, then tun heat down.
Keep whisking for about 3-4 minutes till you have a smooth paste.
Remove from heat and whisk in the oil till combined.
Spoon into a small glass jar and store in the refrigerator. The paste will keep for up to one month in the refrigerator.
When you are ready to enjoy your golden latte, place 1 tsp of latte paste place in a mug, top with ¼ cup boiling water, gently stir in Everee #4 to dissolve and top with ¾ cup heated or steamed milk.
If you are new to golden lattes we recommend sweetening with a little honey or maple syrup.
Enjoy and notice the wonderful warming feeling of the spices at work.
We highly recommend steaming the milk if you have a coffee machine or investing in a milk frother, as this will take your golden latte to the next level, with a creamy and light mouthfeel.
Tip: Steamed milk from a coffee machine or milk frother will give your latte a creamy, café-style finish. If you’re new to golden lattes, a little sweetener can help balance the earthy spices.
